A Random Question for the Suits.
At what point does money become more important than fulfillment?
Let’s be honest there are no eight year olds lying in bed at night dreaming of becoming a certified public accountant, or an investment banker. Little Bobby and Becky aren’t counting down the days until they can lease commercial real estate, or run a statistical analysis… And yet these things get done.
I tend to think you fall into it… Like a trap, adulthood, responsibility, security. Security… Ironically is a very dangerous path… You walk down that road too long and you end up losing your life. One paycheck at a time…
I’m just sayin’…

“At what point does money become more important than fulfillment?”
At a very young age for most people. Just send kids to school and let them compare clothes, toys, hell…even the brand of crayons that are being used. Once kids figure out that there are “good” and “bad” things…”cool” and “uncool” things…well, money becomes so very important.
Sad, I know.
Me… Really? Doesn’t anyone want to be a cowboy anymore? A race car driver? An archaeologist???
Ok… Maybe the last one was just me. But still…
Yes, I think that some do…but the majority want to be a FAMOUS cowboy…a WINNING racecar driver…a SUCCESSFUL arcaeologist. You know, where famous, winning, and successful equal rich.
At least, that’s just what I have observed.
Me… That’s kinda’ sad.
Somehow I’ve alway felt lucky just to be surviving, so I haven’t had any particular ambitions other than to be free to do what I want. I never got rich, but I’ve had a lot of adventures.
Mother… I’d say that puts you in better stead than just about 90% of the population. I envy you…
But… money IS fulfillment!
Iron Man… If money is fulfillment then sex is love…
