The top 11 things black people fear from a McCain presidency. So I wrote a post the other day listing the The top 11 things white people fear from an Obama presidency… Wow! I mean it was satire people! I received the kind of hatred that is normally reserved for child molesters, rapists and my blogging idol.

Seriously… I mean judging from the responses on ShoutWire you’d think I was burning a virtual cross while wearing black face and performing in a minstrel show. Really… It wasn’t that serious.

Don’t get me wrong… I hate! But it’s really more of an equal opportunity hatred… I hate liberals and conservatives, feminists and chauvinists, rich and poor, black and white, fat and thin… Really! I hate them all. So in the interest of equal time I present to you…

The top 11 things black people fear from a McCain presidency, and yes… It is a list of eleven. Any dumbass with a blog can give you a list of ten… It takes a real genius to bring you eleven!

1. The economy will tank and we will enter a recession. The subsequent weak productivity growth will lead to the shrinking of the Gross Domestic Product, lower real wages, and mass lay-offs. (Ummm… Wait… This has already happened.)

2. The unemployment rate for black men will rise to twice the rate for white, Hispanic and Asian men. In addition, fewer black men between the ages of 16 and 29 will be a part of the labor force as compared to white, Hispanic and Asian men in the same age group. (Ummm… This too.)

3. The poverty rate for blacks will rise to nearly twice the national rate, with almost 25% living below the poverty line. (Really? This too?!?)

4. Racial profiling will create a disproportionate representation of black Americans in the U.S. criminal justice system. Although blacks will only comprise 13 percent of the national population, 30 percent of the people arrested, and 41 percent of the people in jail… Will be black. (Seriously?!? This too?)

5. Black high school students living in low-income families will begin to drop out of school at six times the rate of their peers from high-income families. Fewer than 8% of young black men will graduate from college compared to 17% of whites and 35% of Asians. (Alright… This is just getting ridiculous! This too!)

6. Young black men will begin dying at a rate that is at least 1.5 times the rate of young white and Hispanic men, and almost three times the rate of young Asian men with the leading cause of death for black men between the ages of 15 and 29 being homicide. (Son of a bitch! Are you serious? This too?)

7. Their national health care program will be taken away… Causing nearly 4 out of 10 young black men to go without health insurance. (Oh!?! That’s right… there never was a national health care program!)

8. HIV will become the sixth leading cause of death for young black and hispanic men, yet for other racial groups, HIV is not even among the top 10 causes of death. (Really??? It already is the sixth leading cause of death?!?)

9. We will become almost completely dependent on foreign oil, and pay billions of dollars in subsidies for oil and gas companies while wholly ignoring the development of viable energy alternatives… (I know… I know… This too!)

10. Over $400 billion will be wasted and nearly 4000 US soldiers killed in a war in Iraq. (Come on! Who the fuck thought this was a good idea? Seriously???)

11. I guess if you are a black American your biggest fear from a McCain Presidency would be… That things will stay exactly the same!

I’m sorry if this wasn’t funny… I tried… I really tried to find something silly or funny that black people would fear about a McCain presidency, but I guess black Americans have had, and continue to have, more than their share of sobering and serious things to fear… Segregation, and job ceilings, poor schools, a continued lack of economic opportunity, the related problems of broken families, drug-infested communities, and social isolation are more than enough to worry about.

I’m just sayin’…
