Remember the glory days of the 80’s? The United States was deeply embroiled in the “Cold War” and we were all united… United in our biting hatred for the Soviet Union… The devilish red monsters who populated our nightmares and invaded our waking thoughts with the dreadful spectre of Armageddon!

Ahhhhhh… Those were the days.

Ronald Reagan labeling the Evil Empire“The Soviet Union is an Evil Empire, and Soviet communism is the focus of evil in the modern world” honed and sharpened our hatred to a fine point. It consolidated us… United us… We were of single mind, and of single purpose… Obliterate the lousy rotten communists…

“Better Dead Than RED” Sadly, that’s all gone now…

Not to say the bad guys are all gone, the threats we face now are even more insidious than ever. It’s just the lines seem less clearly defined. Our fears no longer unite us in hatred, rather they divide us along political and social lines. In the politically correct world of today it’s not socially acceptable to hate. It’s no longer “us” against “them”… Pity.

So this May Day try to remember the good ol’ days… Maybe watch “Red Dawn” and bask in the glory of the hate my friends.

Go forward comrads!
