It seems lately, that everywhere I look I see spoiled, lily-white rich kids from the suburbs dressed in over-sized NBA tanks and FUBU jackets with baggy jeans hanging down to their knees, and a G-Unit hat cocked off to the side.

Everyone is “gangsta”… Everyone is “hood”… Everyone is a douchebag!

Apparently “street cred” can be purchased quite easily with “store cred”, and mommy and daddy’s platinum visa goes a long way towards establishing a wiggers reputation with his peeps.

But it’s not just the kids… It’s also Bob from accounting who grew up in an affluent white suburb in Connecticut and yet insists on greeting you each and every morning with “Yo…Yo…Yo… What up my nigga?”

Or Dave from IT who can trace his ancestry back to the Mayflower and yet answers every question with “Fo’ shizzle my nizzle…”

And let’s not forget the 35 year old ad executive sitting next to you in traffic in the BMW M5 who makes 375 K per year blasting NWA’s “Fuck Tha Police!”

Still… Even with the wholesale co-opting of Hip-Hop Culture by mainstream white America there is one aspect of it that has yet to become accepted.

I am referring of course to… The grille…

While widely accepted in urban areas as a sign of affluence and status. It has yet to catch on in middle class suburbia…

Perhaps it’s because while widely known to attract hoochies, chicken heads, skeeters, scants, hood rats, ho’s, and bitches in “Da Hood”, the grille actually seems to repel the milfs, divorcees and soccer mom’s that M.A.W.G’s (Middle, Aged, White, Guys) are hoping to attract.
