I Really Need a Bavarian Sugar Cookie…

19 September 2008 6 Comments

Harold Crick from Stranger Than Fiction

I caught the tail end of ‘Stranger Than Fiction’ last night.

I think I may actually be the only person on the face of the planet that really likes this film. It was almost universally panned, and no one I know… Or that I have ever met seems to like it, and yet it appeals to me…

In fact it may be one of my favorite movies of all time.

It raises so many questions… How much control do we actually have over our own lives? Is control just an illusion? In the end do we decide our destiny, or does fate guide our path, and even more importantly… Does fate have our best interests at heart? Does fate have a conscience?

The thing is, every time I watch this movie I wonder… Where is my Maggie Gyllenhaal? Cuz fate, if you’re listening, I’m gonna’ be honest…

I could really use a Bavarian sugar cookie about now.

I’m Just Sayin’…

Listen up, JS. All my people - and that includes the ones in cyberspace - love this movie. So we’re BFF now. Too bad for you!

Every movie with Will Ferrell in it is worth seeing.

I had no control over what I just wrote.

Hmm. Baking. Baking. Well, I can stir stuff and call it baking. I don’t know if that counts.

If you can work a microwave and make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich you’ve got the gig!
